Marchese Ford Employee Handbook
EACH EMPLOYEE'S RESPONSIBILITY
IS SAFTEY
Safety
can only be achieved through teamwork at Marchese Ford. Each
employee, supervisor and manager must practice safety awareness by thinking
defensively, anticipating unsafe situations and reporting unsafe conditions
immediately.
Although most safety regulations are consistent
throughout each department and program, each employee has the responsibility
to identify and familiarize her/himself with the emergency plan for his/her
working area. Each facility shall have posted an emergency plan detailing
procedures in handling emergencies such as fire, weather-related events and
medical crises.
It is the responsibility of the employee to
complete an Accident and Incident Report for each safety and health
infraction that occurs by an employee or that the employee witnesses.
Failure to report such an infraction may result in employee disciplinary
action, including termination.
Furthermore, management requires that every
person in the organization assumes the responsibility of individual and
organizational safety. Failure to follow company safety and health
guidelines or engaging in conduct that places the employee, client or
company property at risk can lead to employee disciplinary action and/or
termination.
Upon hire each employee must complete the “Deep
Employee Initial Saftey Training“ and complete the questions at end.
Employees working in the Service or Parts departments will then be
scheduled to attend a Deep safety training course.
Please
observe the following precautions:
1.Notify
your supervisor of any emergency situation. If you are injured or become
sick at work, no matter how slightly, you must inform your supervisor
immediately.
2. The
use of alcoholic beverages or illegal drug substances, or the abuse of legal
prescription drugs during working hours will not be tolerated. The
possession of alcoholic beverages or illegal drug substances on the company
property is forbidden.
3. Use,
adjust and repair machines and equipment only if you are trained and
qualified.
4. Get
help when lifting or pushing heavy objects.
5.
Understand your job fully and follow instructions. If you are not sure of
the safe procedure, don't guess...ask your supervisor.
6. Know
the locations, contents and use of first aid and fire fighting equipment. If
you have not been trained in the use of a Fire Extinguisher you are not to
use it.
7. Wear
personal protective equipment in accordance with the job you are performing.
A
violation of a safety precaution is in itself an unsafe act. A violation may
lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
